Stop Filtering School Picutres
I’m sure I am not the only one who thinks that school pictures are one of the cute highlights of elementary school for both parents and kids. Seeing my kindergartener so excited made my heart happy. The adorable sometimes awkward and funny quick snapshots really can capture the innocence and happiness of your littles. There’s something so sweet about the gap teeth, the messy hair, and the crazy outfits that they picked out that just show off their cute little personalities.
\There is nothing better than going back to look at those pictures when they are a bit older for both your kids and you and remembering how little they were and when you look at the pictures for some reason you see them no other way than that cute little 5 year old with the scratch on his or her forehead from playing outside. Or remembering the exact shirt they are wearing.
But when I just ordered my kinder’s pictures I was actually shocked to see that there are editing filters available to purchase when you order your pictures. YES! Just like social media, you an apple touch-ups or softening to your baby’s school pictures. Honestly, I don’t agree with it.
Stop With The Filters On School Pictures
For me – the best part of school pictures, especially elementary pictures is their authenticity. It’s a chance to look back later and laugh at yourself, remembering how innocent, cute, and awkward we all were. I love the little imperfections. If it’s the hair that won’t go down or the ugly shirt – that’s what makes them the best!!
Using editing filters to smooth out your little’s look takes away from the charm. It’s like we are already setting them up to do it on social media. I know it’s 2024 but we gotta relax. They don’t need to look picture-perfect and neither do they. Let the school pictures reflect that.
