MrBeast Lawsuit Filed Over Las Vegas ‘Beast Games’ Disaster
“We’ve put a law firm in front of five people that feel like they were abused by us and in this briefcase is untold millions of dollars,” is probably how the YouTube video would start if the newly filed MrBeast Lawsuit was one of Jimmy Donaldson’s newest viral hits. But it’s not. This is real life.
On Monday a class action lawsuit was filed against his production company MrBeast LLC and Amazon, the company behind the big money game show ‘Beast Games’ over what turned into a disheveled mess at Allegiant Stadium.
What Does The MrBeast Lawsuit Allege?
Pull up a chair, there’s a lot.
The lawsuit is on behalf of five of the 2,000 contestants that were competing in the production here in Las Vegas in July. Their claims are thick and spread across several different issues.
- Unsafe conditions on the set, including limited food and medical care
- Misogyny and sexism on set. There were claims outside of this lawsuit that feats of strength had men tackling women to win a challenge.
- Sexual harassment on set, much of which is redacted due to confidentiality agreements.
- Unreasonable conditions (some accused the production of no access to their needed medications, losing their spare underwear, etc)
- No pay. They say at the end of it all, they weren’t paid for being a contestant on the game show.
In what could also be a sticky situation, the MrBeast lawsuit alleges that the production might have cooked the books to illegally get millions of Nevada tax credits for filming in town.
Here’s The Worst Part… This Was Just A Preliminary Game
With 2,000 contestants killing themselves to try to win $5 million at Allegiant Stadium on ‘Beast Games’, it is understandable that a lot was on the line. But the worst part is the Las Vegas production wasn’t the $5 million dollar game.
It was just the preliminary game. The people that moved on from the Allegiant Stadium shoot moved on to a filming location in Toronto the following month for the real competition.
There have been a lot of accusations against MrBeast using his fame and finances to influence people in need to do things they don’t feel comfortable doing. Heck, he made himself the biggest YouTuber on the planet by doing it. But this MrBeast lawsuit might just be the thing that leashes the beast.
