Skating On The Strip. Why Is Roller Skating Cooler Than Rollerblading
I know it’s still hot in Vegas but this winter, Las Vegas has even more ways than ice skating to get into the holiday spirit. Starting November 17th, TAO Beach Dayclub at The Venetian Resort is transforming into a 70s-themed roller-skating rink, Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace. Tickets and info here.
Roller Skating under the Vegas lights is going to be such a good vibe. From noon to 8 PM Thursday through Sunday, you can rent skates or bring your own for such a cool, retro disco experience.
The Cosmopolitan turns their pool into an ice rink for the winter as well and always such a great time for a date night or for the family.
But let’s dive into what makes ice skating and roller skating cool but rollerblading is NOT cool. (The kids say it, not me).
Ice skating… Classic, bonus cool points if you can twirl around and you may as well enter the Winter Olympics if you can stop without having to slam into the wall. Roller skating? Trendy, especially with the ’70s vibes coming back in full swing. But, tell me why rollerblading gets such a bad rep. Oof. The minute those inline skates hit the pavement you may as well be wearing a shirt that says, “I am stuck in the 1998.” I feel bad for Blades. Why the hate for rollerblading? Is it the middle child of skating?
Maybe this year let’s embrace the awkward rollerblades and glide around Flipper’s with the blades and not skates?
