Pete Davidson Says Goodbye to His Bold Tattoos
Comedian and actor Pete Davidson has always been known for his tattoos. While fans are aware that he has been in the process of getting his tattoos removed since 2020, his recent outing after checking in at a mental health facility shows his almost bare arms while wearing a red Fire Department of New York t-shirt. Fans were surprised to see him without his trademark tattoos, but the reaction was more of a pleasant surprise.
Pete Davidson’s Decision to Get “De-Inked”
Davidson admitted that his decision to get his tattoos removed was because he wanted to get serious with his acting career. The characters he often plays don’t have them and it usually takes him three hours in the make-up chair to get his ink temporarily covered up. This commitment shows how serious he is about his acting career. In an appearance on The Late Show With Seth Meyers in 2021, he said, “I honestly never thought that I would get an opportunity to act, and I love it a lot.”
In an article by BuzzFeed, Pete Davidson recounted his “really embarrassing” experience getting his tattoos removed. “Burning them off is worse than getting them, because not only are they, like, burning off your skin, but you’re wearing these big goggles, right? So, you can’t see anything and the doctor’s in there with you.” Since he can’t see, his doctor needs to call out his tattoos and confirm with him which ones he’s keeping, and which ones need to go. “I’ll just be sitting there all high off of the Pro-Nox — which is actually quite fun, I enjoy it — and then all of a sudden, I’ll just hear, ‘Are we keeping the Stewie Griffin smoking a blunt?’ And then I have to sit there and be like, ‘No, Dr. G.’”
His Tattoos Are Not the Only Thing Fans Noticed
Despite being glaringly obvious, his almost bare arms are not the only thing about the SNL album the fans noticed. A lot of fans have been commenting about how healthy Davidson looks.
On July 31, People confirmed Davidson checked in at a facility to prioritize his mental health. The comedian, who has been vocal about his sobriety journey, borderline personality disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder, has always been open to checking himself into rehab for “tune-ups” and “mental health breaks.” A source close to the actor also told Page Six, “Anyone who knows Pete knows that he will always step up and get help when he knows he needs it.”
