Las Vegas Man Learns He’s Not The Father, Takes Revenge
Watching “Maury” for the paternity tests were a midday trash television staple. But when it happens in real life, you can bet hearing you are not the father of the child that you thought was yours is a bit traumatic. It happened to one Las Vegas man, and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says he reacted in a very violent way.
28 year old Javonne Johnson is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend after a tumultuous breakup. Earlier this month, Johnson allegedly broke up with his girlfriend after snooping through her phone and discovering one of the children he had been helping to raise was, in fact, not his.
How The Las Vegas Man Reacted To Learning He Was Not The Father
Last Monday, November 11th, the woman arrived at Johnson’s home to pick up her kids (some of which we are assuming are Johnson’s kids as well). It was during that pick up that he spotted the ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. He, you guessed it, is the supposed father of the child in question.
According to the police report, this enraged Johnson and he demanded the boyfriend get out of the car. The boyfriend then allegedly saw Johnson had a gun, and tried to flee in the car. But Johnson took a shot and hit the boyfriend in the hand with gunfire.
After that incident Johnson barricaded himself in the house. That’s whey Las Vegas Metro arrived and a standoff ensued. SWAT eventually got him out of the house. And now he is in a whole lot of trouble.
Johnson was arrested on several counts, including attempted murder, assault and battery, child neglect and more. He is being held at CCDC awaiting a November 27th court appearance.
Not nearly as satisfying as hearing “Maury” say “you are not the father”. Turns out, it isn’t so much fun after all.
