For The Holidays Get The Teachers Something They Really Want
Holidays at school between Thanksgiving and Christmas break is often considered the most wonderful time of the year. However, for teachers, it can be one of the most exhausting and challenging stretches on the calendar. I am not a teacher but I have a lot that are friends and I can see it in their faces. The excitement (and sometimes chaos) of holidays and all of the festivities in the classroom, end-of-year assessments, and juggling their own personal holiday plans can leave our kid’s teachers feeling completely drained!
During these two or three weeks, teachers are managing their student’s energy and excitement but also trying to make sure that everyone’s school work and progress stay on track leading up to the holidays. Holiday concerts, classroom parties, all the things. No wonder teachers look forward to their well deserved break. If you are able a nice gift big or small is a nice gesture to show them they are important to you and your kids. Skip the mugs this year!
Show Your Appreciation With The Perfect Gift
A holiday gift can go a long way. Handmade crafts and heartfelt notes are great but sometimes practical gifts can make an even bigger impact for the holidays.
This year, consider gifting your teacher a way to relax and recharge after the crazy first half of the school year. One of the best gifts you can give? A gift card to a restaurant or a happy hour spot. I know you’re thinking of course Aimee says that – but hear me out:
- Time to Unwind: After managing a classroom full of kids, teachers deserve a break to enjoy a nice meal or a drink in a relaxing place.
- Flexibility: A restaurant or happy hour gift card allows them to choose when and where to treat themselves, making it a thoughtful and stress-free option.
- Self-Care: Teachers often prioritize their students and families over themselves. A gift card reminds them to take time for their own well-being.
Here are some ideas for a great restaurant or happy hour gift cards that your teacher is sure to appreciate:
- Casual Dining: Options like Olive Garden, Chili’s, or BJ’s are perfect for a cozy meal out. (Who can go wrong with soup, salad & breadsticks.)
- Local Favorites: Like a local bar and tavern that has food and drinks. Best idea to find one that has multiple locations because they don’t always live in the school zone.
- Quick Treats: Gift cards to coffee shops like Starbucks or Dunkin’ can brighten up a teacher’s morning.
The holidays are a time to show your gratitude, and there are few people more deserving of our appreciation than teachers. They dedicate their time and energy to shaping our baby’s young minds and making a difference every day. It sounds simple but I think it goes a long way. It gives them something to look forward to after the holiday rush or even during it. We all could use a meal or cocktail preparing for the holidays.
So, as you check off your holidays to-do list, don’t forget to include your children’s teachers.
