Man Ran On Tarmac At Harry Reid After Getting Past Security
The runways of Harry Reid International Airport has tens of millions of travelers going to, from and through it every year. So when a man ran on tarmac after slipping past security, that is a major issue.
Man Ran On Tarmac… But How?!
According to 8 News Now, Hector Posado-Mendoza was at one of the private aviation businesses that are connected to the runways at Harry Reid International Airport, but aren’t part of the main terminals. When he got there on the morning of Sunday, December 8th, he was acting a little shifty.
After a few minutes, he popped off. The badge reader that would typically grant access to secure doors got knocked off the wall. He slammed his way through security doors and there it was.
The man ran on tarmac, arguably one of the most secure places in any city. The area, away from the commercial terminals likely near Tropicana Avenue, has a slew of private planes parked. He ran up the stairs of one of the private planes, sat his keister down, and likely awaited his inevitable arrest.
After being taken to a local hospital, he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. But he was later released without bail and will eventually have a court date.
How Much Time Can You Face For Circumventing Airport Security?
The man ran on tarmac and now he’ll have to try to evade charges like he evaded security procedures.
According to 49 U.S. Code 46314, he might be looking at some serious time. The law reads that a person may not “knowingly and willfully enter, in violation of security requirements” of, among other things, an airport area. It is a felony that could have him imprisoned for as much as 10 years and fined as well.
We don’t know if the man ran on tarmac looking for a cheap flight, but next time you should check out Frontier.
