Water Street In Henderson Opening First Hotel With Revamped Pass Casino
Henderson, Nevada. It used to be a tiny city attached to Las Vegas. Now Henderson seems to get bigger and bigger every day. Water Street In Henderson Has Become A Hip Little Strip Water Street in Henderson used to be a quiet little main street. But Water Street has turned into this amazingly cool street full of great restaurants, breweries, and wine bars. And now, after more than a year and a half of construction, the very hip Water Street will open its first hotel the end of October. Atwell Suites at The Pass, is planning a soft opening on October 30, with a grand opening event planned for November 21. The hotel will have 57 king rooms and 33 double queen rooms. Each room will have a wet bar and a minifridge. Atwell Suites amenities will include breakfast, a market on site, an evening bar with a limited menu, a fitness center and a pool - of course! (Locals will get that 'of course' more than others...) Henderson Nevada Is Growing Up Fast The $24 million development will put more eyes, and attention on the already popular Water Street District, in Henderson. Owner Joe DeSimone said his goal is to bring an upscale customer to Water Street. The Pass is also getting a refresh, that will tie in to the Atwell Suites opening. They are reprogramming their slots, adding more video poker to the casino, and reconfiguring the existing casino floor. The Pass used to have a 24-hour cafe, but they cut the hours a while back. Plans are to reopen the 24-hour cafe, and have Ristorante Italiano open five days a week. And weekends will feature live music. DeSimone hopes his investment is something that will sark other properties in Henderson to do the same. “Hopefully when I’m long gone, it’ll look like a Fremont Street,” he said. although I'm sure many Henderson residents would rather that not happen, you can't dispute any money helping out the Henderson economy. If you're traveling to Las Vegas soon, or haven't been to Water Street in Henderson in a while, definitely make a visit. You'll have a great time, and you will not be sorry. Try the fajitas (just ask a Henderson resident)!
