Women’s History Month

The Most Inspirational Women’s Speech (VIDEO)

We are in a world where women keep breaking barriers and redefining stereotypes, there is just magic in the journey of being a woman and being a mom. Every milestone, every challenge, and every triumph shapes not only just you personally but the history of women in society all around. And is there a better testament to our journey and the stresses of being a woman than the super inspirational speech in the Barbie movie by America Ferrera? To me, it's one of the most inspirational speeches and my favorite part of the movie. In an article by Town and Country magazine, America says she ran through the entire monolog top to bottom probably "30-50 times". When she was done everyone was crying because it was such an emotional inspirational speech and she killed it! As a woman and a mother, I find myself constantly being amazed at our existence, like our pure existence. But let it be known it is really hard to be a woman. America Ferrera's speech in the Barbie movie beautifully captures the struggles of the journey, while also reminding us of the power that lives in each woman. Embracing the struggles and triumphs that many women face in their lives. We are women we are resilient. I especially think this speech hits differently this month for Women's History Month. One of my favorite lines from the speech is about halfway through when she says "You're supposed to love being a mother, but don't talk about your kids all the damn time." This hits home with me because my favorite thing is to be a mom and I could talk for days about my boys but that's "annoying" to people. Being a woman is just a constant balancing act. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBqlDWHkdHk   As we celebrate the wonder of womanhood and motherhood, let's get some inspiration from America Ferrera's powerful portrayal in Barbie the movie. Let us embrace ourselves, lift each other up, and continue to pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for women everywhere.
