Imagine Dragons kicked off 2023 with an exhilarating private benefit concert on January 5th.
The private performance raised money for Imagine Dragon’s non-profit, the Tyler Robinson Foundation. According to the non-profits website, TRF was founded in 2013 in honor of Tyler Robinson, a “long-time fan turned lifelong friend,” who lost his battle against pediatric cancer at 17 years old.
Imagine Dragons and the Robinson family established the non-profit with the mission “to strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing grants specifically to offset out-of-pocket life expenses.”
Lucky 102.7 VGS listeners who won tickets from Aimee+Shawn or Sammi Reeves had the honor of attending this private event to see lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist and keyboardist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman perform live on the Las Vegas Strip.
Ticket holders entered Dolby Live at Park MGM with wide eyes, as mesmerizing lasers glowed through the air and disappeared into the audience. There wasn’t a bad seat in the house, and fans were able to secure their spot right by the stage!
When Imagine Dragons took the stage, you could feel the electricity course throughout Dolby Live. Song after song, the wide array of emotions displayed among fans was touching to say the very least.
The band delivered a high-energy performance, playing several of their most popular hits like “Believer,” “It’s Time,” and “Thunder.” In-between songs, Reynolds gave numerous inspiring speeches that had each member of the audience in the palm of his hand, reminding each and every fan of the real purpose of the evening and the hopeful impact that it would have on numerous families.
102.7 VGS stood stage-side throughout Imagine Dragons’ entire set list, and honestly, we can’t think of a more exhilarating and impactful way to have kicked off the new year.
