Every year millions of people tune into the Super Bowl in February. Some of us tune in to the Super Bowl because we love football, there are those of us that watch the Super Bowl for the awesome snacks at your friend's house or the ones that watch the big game for the halftime show!

The halftime show wasn't always a huge production. In 1960, the first Super Bowl halftime show consisted of the Liberty Bell which was performed by the University of Arizona Symphonic Marching Band. The halftime show continued to feature marching bands for a few decades. Then, in the 90s they decided to bring in big acts in hopes to increase viewership and they sure did!

In 1991 they booked New Kids On The Block and the narrative started to change from there.

Michael Jackson took the big stage in 1993 and the rest is history. It is one of the most watched performances every year.

We have seen behind the scenes preparation from some artists as they get their performances together and rehearse for what is said to be the absolute biggest stage there is for a performer.

Biggest stage yes, but not a big payday for the performers. They actually don't get paid at all to be there. The NFL does pay for their family and friends to be at the show but performers only get bragging rights and exposure to the most watched sporting event of the year every year. Last year 111.2 million people tuned in.

This year just announced that Rihanna will take the stage for the first time since 2019 and is rumored to be releasing new music for the first time since 2016

I'm here for it and am sure she is going to put on an amazing performance. Can she get in my top 15 halftime shows though?
