Flavor Flav is making sure Jordan Chiles doesn’t leave the 2024 Paris Olympics empty-handed. The rapper, known for his support of Team USA, especially the water polo team, designed a special bronze clock necklace for her after she lost her bronze medal from the gymnastics floor exercise final on August 5.

In a post shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday (Aug. 12), he showed off the necklace in a video. The clock is decorated with bronze rhinestones, both inside and outside, and its hands are set at the 12:00 mark. It hangs from a white string, and Flav turns it back and forth in front of an American flag.

“USA gonna Fight the Powers that be,,, in the meantime between time,,, Imma always a man of my word @ChilesJordan,” he wrote, referencing his hip-hop group Public Enemy’s famous song “Fight the Power.”

Jordan Chiles' mom, Gina Chiles, responded to the video, saying, "Thank you. Means the world. She's not on socials right now as you can imagine. I'll share it with her."

The unveiling of the clock necklace came a day after Flav offered to create a custom piece for the 23-year-old Team USA gymnast following the controversy.

On Monday (Aug. 12), USA Gymnastics announced that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) denied Chiles' appeal to reinstate her bronze medal, which had been taken away after Romanian gymnasts Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea challenged her placement in the floor exercise final.

Chiles initially scored a 13.666, placing her behind the Romanians, who were 4th and 5th with 13.700. Her coach, Cecile Landi, argued that her difficulty score should have been higher due to a leap where she performed a split in the air while turning 540 degrees. After the appeal, Chiles' score was raised to 13.766, earning her the bronze medal and a spot on the podium alongside her teammate Simone Biles and Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade.

However, CAS later determined that Landi submitted the challenge of Chiles’ initial score four seconds too late, leading to the bronze medal being taken away. The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) attempted to appeal, claiming there was video evidence showing that Landi's appeal was submitted in time.

Despite this, on August 12, CAS ruled that Ana Barbosu, would receive the bronze medal. USA Gymnastics expressed their deep disappointment in a statement and promised to continue exploring every possible option, including appealing to the Swiss Federal Tribunal, to ensure what they believe is the fair outcome for Jordan Chiles.
