I’d heard of eyebrow microblading for years but always felt unsure about going through with the procedure. What if I don’t like them in the end? What if it hurts like hell? Finally, a few weeks ago, as I was desperately trying to fill in my eyebrows and they were not cooperating, I’d had the last straw. I decided now was the time to take a leap of faith and get my eyebrows microbladed.

A friend had recommended Ink by Britt, a local Las Vegas permanent makeup studio, for the procedure. I looked into their work, and I was so impressed! When I went onto their website to book my appointment, I noticed that I could choose to have an apprentice do the procedure for significantly cheaper. I’m all for saving the dough, and I’m also all for helping individuals gain experience and reach their goals in their desired profession. I booked the appointment with an apprentice named Shalynn, and it wasn’t until I arrived to the shop that I realized the “Shalynn” I booked with was the same “Shalynn” I’d become friends with a few months back at a concert!

I explained that I wanted my natural brows to be a little fuller but not too thick, and Shalynn began drafting the new sleek border of my soon-to-be eyebrows. This process was tedious, but let me tell you… The picture below says it all. She did a PERFECT job. Feeling totally at ease, I laid down on their table and let Shalynn get to work.

One thing you might not know about microblading: they numb you up. Numbing gel goes on you eyebrows and sits for an extended period of time prior to the blade making contact. This was a total relief, and as she started blading my brows, the pain was very, very minimal. I was so pleasantly surprised! She created the fine, hair-like strokes and covered my brows with a custom combination of colored ink to match my brow color. We repeated the process a few times, and when I saw my brows at the very end, I couldn’t help but tear up at how happy I was with the results.

It’s most definitely worth noting – the initial look of your brows immediately following the procedure is not necessarily the final look. The healing process takes multiple weeks, and within that period of time, your eyebrows will get darker, get lighter, scab, flake, itch, burn, etc. It’s a process, but if you take extra great care of them and follow all of your tech’s instructions during this initial healing period, you final end-all brows will thank you.

My brows have already started healing SO fast, and I’m so pleased with the entire experience overall. Ink by Britt and my girl, Shalynn gave me the BEST experience overall and have made me feel more confident than I’ve ever felt. Thank you ladies!!!
