Father’s Day 2024 is Sunday, June 16th (aka it’s almost here), and unless you’re an incredible planner, we’re all trying to figure out exactly what it is that we should get our fabulous father for this important holiday. Actually, that answer is easy…

There’s nothing fathers love and want more than to make memories with their kiddos. It’s basically a proven fact. If you were to gift your dad with a precious memory together, he will undoubtedly be excited.

But what kinds of activities for dads and kids are perfect for making those priceless memories? Well, that’s why I’m here to help and get your creative juices flowing. The key is to not overthink it. Think about things your dad or your kiddos love to do, check out this list, and go from there!

Activities For Dads And Kids Of All Ages

Depending on the ages of the father and children at hand, the activities for dads and kids you might consider will vary. For younger fathers with younger kiddos, you might want to go with an activity that is less physical and challenging… Something that both parties can easily handle and is more centric on just spending quality time together.

For those who have children that are a bit older, the world is your oyster. You can really get as adventurous as you want, possibly choosing an activity that is a bit more physically challenging or advantageous (while still focusing on spending that sweet quality time with your father).

No matter the activity or activities for dads and kids that you choose, you’re sure to gift your father with the greatest gift he could ever ask for. Life is way too short, and at the end of the day, you’ll never regret a day spent with the father in your life.

  • 7) Go Fishing

    If you’re looking for the perfect Father’s Day activity, try fishing. It’s great for fathers and kids of all ages!

    Reel in the best memories this Father’s Day by going on a little fishing trip! The great thing about this activity is that it’s a great one no matter how young or old you are. There’s nothing like helping your son or daughter reel in their very first fish, and for those father-kiddo pairings that are seasoned fishers, now is the perfect time to head back out to your local pond. Try this activity for the perfect bonding moment.

  • 6) Try Geocaching

    Geocaching can be a great experience to share! Just get you GPS or smartphone, and begin your adventure!

    This activity is probably for those father-kid pairs that are a bit older… But honestly, geocaching can be perfect for all ages too! It’s like your own little treasure hunt. It’s also a great way to get some exercise together, share an adventure, and bond over a shared challenge. It doesn’t get any better than that combo!

  • 5) Create A Backyard Campground

    A backyard campout is more than just pitching a tent in your backyard. It’s the perfect bonding experience for you and your little ones without having to spending a dime.

    If you’re in a city where going camping isn’t really a possibility, why not create a campout of your own? This is the perfect activity especially for your little ones who would think this is the coolest activity in the world. Pitch a tent in your backyard, start a mini fire in your firepit to roast some marshmallows, and tell some spooky stories. Your kids, and your father, will undoubtedly love it. It’s quality time central!

  • 4) Go On A Road Trip

    Road tripping with your kids is the perfect way to catch some views you’ve never seen before. Not to mention, it’s the perfect route to take for priceless memories.

    This one isn’t for everyone, but it doesn’t have to be a big thing! Even if you only road trip just outside of your city and take in the views, that is a perfect opportunity to create a memory with your loved ones. Don’t overthink it. Just get in your car, fill up your tank, and go! Who knows the adventure that awaits…

  • 3) Volunteer

    Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community with those you love most in your life. Try this experience to not only share a special memory with your kiddos, but to make a change in your local community.

    To volunteer and give back to the community together is one of the best gifts you can give not only to the father in your life, but so many others as well this Father’s Day. Check with your local community organizations, and see if there are any volunteering opportunities in your area. This might be the perfect activity for those whose kids are old enough to properly volunteer, but some organizations would undoubtedly be open to help from little hands as well. Bonding AND lending a helping hand? Priceless.

    What activity is not only super fun to do together but gives you a delicious product in the end? Cooking together this Father’s Day is the perfect gift for dad because you’re giving him both quality time and something scrumptious to eat! Cooking is also perfect for all ages to participate. Find a recipe you’ve been really wanting to try, and go at it! Even if it turns out gross, the memories you’ve created together will be delightful.

    Escape rooms offer a beautiful challenge for families and kids of most ages. If you’re looking for an adventure that won’t totally break the bank, this is it!

    For those looking to have a thrilling Father’s Day, escape rooms are the perfect option. This activity is probably best suited for those with kiddos who are older, but who’s to say your younger ones wouldn’t enjoy the thrill of it all as well. Most cities have plenty of escape rooms to choose from. Pick one out that’s appealing to you and your children, and thank me later. Good luck!
