Janelle Monae Will Present Janet Jackson At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Janelle Monae has been selected to present Janet Jackson at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this year.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognizes artists who have been releasing music for at least 25 years; Jackson's self-titled debut was released in 1982, although her breakthrough didn't come until 1986, when she released Control.  Jackson joins her brothers in the Rock Hall: the Jackson 5 were inducted in 1997, and Michael was inducted a second time for his solo career in 2001. Other artists from Jackson's era to be inducted include Prince and Madonna.

There's no word, as of yet, about whether or not Jackson - or Monae - will perform at the ceremony.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which will also see Harry Styles presenting Stevie Nicks, and Brian May of Queen presenting hard rock band Def Leppard, takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on March 29. An edited version of the broadcast will air on HBO later this spring.
