Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are calling it quits after their romance blossomed from friendship to dating in July of 2019.
Each posted to their Insta stories this evening (11/17), "Hey guys, we've decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as a human is stronger than ever ❤️. We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends."
The statement concluded, "We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward ❤️❤️❤️ Camila and Shawn." According to People, the pair quarantined together during the pandemic, and Mendes said that spending lockdown together brought them closer. noting that his single "Summer of Love" was inspired by that time.
