MSG Sphere In Construction

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – MAY 21: An aerial view shows the USD 1.66 billion MSG Sphere at The Venetian, where construction work is stopped due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on May 21, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 17,000-seat, 400,000-square-foot entertainment venue is being built in partnership between MSG Entertainment and Las Vegas Sands Corp. and is no longer expected to open in 2021 as initially planned because of the work stoppage. Slowly but surely it has risen from the dirt behind The Venetian at Sands and Koval... but what exactly is MSG Sphere? We've heard a lot of rumblings of an entertainment venue, screens and more, and some "this looks fake" renderings. Well, they just dropped a new hype video on us and we have to say we are beyond excited.

The venue, which can hold 20,000 guests, is on track to be the most expensive venue ever built in Las Vegas. Yes, even more expensive than Allegiant Stadium! It has already changed the skyline of the city, with the largest spherical structure on the planet looking more like a Magic 8 Ball than a high-tech entertainment mecca, but once the screens come on the exoskeleton of the MSG Sphere, it's going to be out of this world.

What will the MSG Sphere bring?

Wow, does this video put it all into perspective. While the screen outside is stunning, the screen inside is all encompassing, dwarfing even the largest IMAX screen you've seen... by a wide margin. The screen is 160,000 square feet. That's over 9 sheets of NHL ice... all screen.

The video also brags about "groundbreaking spatialized audio". What it promises is perfect, immersive audio for every seat in the house. No crazy echoes like you hear in other cavernous venues in town. Audio was front and center in planning. They also promise "full 4D effects" while showing video of ocean waves. So... get ready for misters and scent machines a la FlyOver Las Vegas? We think?

From concerts to boxing events and beyond, the MSG Sphere will be home to many different kinds of entertainment, with U2 being the first with a planned multi-show residency. Pretty much the perfect band to stretch the bounds of what an audience can expect. We are counting down the days!

Panic! At The Disco Electrifies Vegas Crowd At Viva Las Vengeance Tour

Panic! At The Disco injected vibrant energy into the Las Vegas crowd during their show on Friday, Oct. 21 at T-Mobile Arena.

The band performed in their hometown, pushing a filled setlist that echoed off the arena walls during the entire show.

People danced and sang their favorite Panic! songs with many tunes having a cathartic effect on those who danced and belted out the lyrics.

The setlist was a great snapshot of the band's discography with Brendon Urie ensuring to give proper homage to the Panic! anthems that propelled him on the charts such as "I Write Sins Not Tragedies," "This Is Gospel," and "Girls/Girls/Boys."

In the middle of the band's set, Urie shifted and started singing songs from his most recent project, "Viva Las Vengeance," which encapsulated the audience in an auditory exploration of new sounds, interesting time signatures and incredible vocal range from the band.

Brendon Urie sang from one octave to another, almost seamlessly transitioning from one key to the next. Many of the songs on "Viva Las Vengeance" are vocally demanding to say the least. The melodies often reflect a "Broadway and pop style" of music that we saw Urie slightly play around with during earlier projects such as"Death of a Bachelor" and "Emperor's New Clothes."

The Viva Las Vengeance part of the concert told a story that broke away from the separate set of Panic! At The Disco's crowd-favorite songs. Urie took a chance by dedicating the main portion of the concert to an album that breaks away from the band's pop-punk base sound. Urie's vocals and transformative mindset when it comes to music were highlighted throughout his run-through of "Viva Las Vengeance." The show felt complete and told the entire story of the band we all know and love: Panic! At The Disco.

The night was explosive, and the visuals were simply amazing. Bright lights danced across T-Mobile Arena with a shower of rainbow lasers being poured across the crowd during "Boys/Boys/Girls."

The Panic! At The Disco concert was the epitome of a perfect show that stimulated the audiences' eyes, ears and mind. The band will conclude its first leg of its tour in Chicago on Oct. 28. After this, the band will start the next chapter of its tour in Europe with the first show opening up in Vienna, Austria on Feb. 20. The band will play across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom.
