Downtown Las Vegas is mourning the loss of one of its popular eateries. Donut Bar Las Vegas announced Wednesday, May 31st, that the shop has officially closed its doors for good.
The popular Downtown Las Vegas donut shop has grown to be a local favorite over the years, growing their Instagram following to a massive 43.5K followers. While it's sad to see Donut Bar Las Vegas close its doors for good, there does seem to be a super sweet twist to the story!
Fortunately, Downtown Las Vegas will not be without their sweet selection of donuts! According to the Donut Bar's Instagram post, Carl's Donuts, a longtime Las Vegas donut business and wholesaler, Carl's Donuts, "will be taking over."
Carl's Donuts got its start in California in 1963 and the businesses success ultimately sparked the company's move to Las Vegas in 1966. According to their website, "Having also found success in Las Vegas, they decided to expand to wholesale operations, supplying convenience stores in the area, which they continue to this day. However, as Carl’s Donuts grew on the wholesale side, their retail operations were put on hold, until now with the opening of Carl’s Donuts on Sunset Road."
Now, it seems as though there will be two Carl's Donuts locations in Las Vegas, with Carl's Donuts potentially taking over the space at 124 S. 6th St. once occupied by Donut Bar Las Vegas. Fingers crossed!
This news has come ahead of National Donut Day, celebrated Friday, June 2nd. Do-nut forget to celebrate by enjoying one (or several) of these delicious, dough confections!

Spaghetti
Cook up some spaghetti noodles and top them with a simple tomato sauce made from canned tomatoes, garlic, onions, and herbs. Add grated cheese if desired. Another option is to prepare spaghetti squash noodles and pair them with a flavorful pesto sauce made from basil or spinach, as an alternative to traditional spaghetti with tomato sauce. Cook the spaghetti squash and scrape out the noodle-like strands. Then, toss them with a homemade pesto sauce consisting of fresh herbs, garlic, nuts, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese.

Remember those extra ingredients from the bean burritos? Well, take the beans, rice, cheese, and salsa and make a nacho. Just grab a bag of tortilla chips and spread them on a baking sheet. Sprinkle on shredded cheese, canned beans, sliced jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and chopped green onions. Pop them in the oven until the cheese melts and the nachos are heated through.
