Adele, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Drake, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd are all up for Artist of the Year at this year’s American Music Awards. Bad Bunny leads the pack with eight nominations, while Taylor Swift holds the record for most AMAs won by any artist—male or female—with a whopping 34 awards to her name. Below, we break down the 2022 nominees by the numbers.

Number of Artist of the Year Nominees: 7

Although there are only seven nominees for Artist of the Year this year, they represent a wide range of genres, from pop to hip-hop to country. This means that no matter what your musical taste is, there’s sure to be someone up for the coveted title who you can get behind.

Number of Nominations for Leading Male Artist Bad Bunny: 8

Bad Bunny is having himself quite a year! Not only is he nominated for Artist of the Year, but he’s also up for eight other awards, including New Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist—Pop/Rock. Could this be his year? Only time will tell.

Number of Movie Soundtrack Albums That Have Been Nominated in This Year’s AMA Categories: 1 (Black Panther)

The 2019 Marvel blockbuster Black Panther became only the second movie soundtrack album in history to be nominated for an AMA when it received a nod in the Favorite Soundtrack category. The first was The Bodyguard, which won four AMAs in 1993. Will Black Panther be able to replicate that success? We’ll have to wait and see!
