From TikTok to Twitter and beyond, 2022 was a year for memes. Whether it was Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s relationship, the latest Elon Musk controversy, or the seemingly never-ending election cycle, there were plenty of meme-worthy moments throughout the year.
Some of the biggest viral memes came when wordle hit the streets. Wordle was also the most googled term in 2022. People were quickly addicted to the online game that you could only play once a day. It took some 10 minutes and others 10 hours. I won’t say which one I was.
What was more shocking? When Kim Kardashian filed for divorce or when she started dating Pete Davidson. Pete Davidson has been viral multiple times this year and we are all here for it. If it’s who he’s dating or the new ink he gets, he has been on your Twitter feed for some time. No surprise here that Kim K was viral multiple times. How about when she told women we better work? That was a good one.
Adam Levine DM’s were one of my favorites. Julia Fox was the most famous she has ever been while she was dating Kanye West but it wasn’t their dating that made her go viral, It was when she said: “Un Cuh Gems” on a podcast!
Hey, Elon Musk bought Twitter then didn’t buy Twitter then really bought it and fired everyone. We definitely can’t forget about the trial of the century, you know it you love it, it’s Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard and we all watched and laughed. Gas prices and Will Smith slap all made the internet a funny place this year.
All in all, 2022 gave us plenty of opportunities for laughs amid all its chaos—and even though we may be looking forward to 2022 being over, we’ll always fondly remember all these hilarious memes that kept us going through this difficult year!
