When news broke that the world famous NUTmobile would be visiting Las Vegas, I had no choice but to attend. For whatever reason, I am obsessed with giant vehicles designed to represent various foods. Is that such a bad thing?
I rolled up to the Neon Museum, and lo and behold, there it was! It was ever so majestically parked in front of the museum entrance, and, I’ll admit it, I squealed like a pig when I laid eyes on it. I couldn’t wait to check it out up close, and, with any luck, meet the proud mascot of Planters, Mr. Peanut!
Let me tell you one thing – the worlds largest peanut on wheels, is indeed, very large. The details of the exterior were fascinating, and I found it hard to believe that the NUTmobile is actually capable of swiftly navigating the various terrains it encounters from state to state.
I also had the honor of meeting the three βPeanuttersβ who man the mobile nut and hand out free samples and swag all across the country β Groundnut Grace, Shell-exa, and Crunchtime Kev. These three were the sweetest and even let me explore inside the NUTmobile for a special look into what their full-time, nut-inspired ride held within. Oh… And I did meet one other guy. THE Mr. Peanut himself, in all of his glory! I was in total awe and completely star struck, but I tried to play it cool. That said, the sparks were undeniable, and my encounter with Mr. Peanut and the fabulous NUTmobile did not end as expected…
