Boyd Gaming Furloughing Most Employees
Boyd Gaming has announced it will place most of its workforce on unpaid furlough effective Saturday, April 11.
In a letter to team members, President and CEO Keith Smith said, “This is by far the most difficult decision we have ever made, one that [he] hoped would not be necessary.”
Furloughed team members will continue to be enrolled in the company’s health care plans through June 30 or their return to work. A limited number of essential employees will remain on payroll and continue working.
Several executives have also agreed to take significant salary reductions and Boyd’s board of directors will not be compensated.
