Joey Chestnut, the renowned competitive eater, is heading to Newcastle, Indiana today to take part in the Donut Hole Eating Championship.  The current world record holder, Jeffrey Esper, consumed an astonishing 293 donut holes in just eight minutes. With Chestnut's very impressive track record, everyone is excited to see if he can break the record and take home the championship title.

Competitive eating has become a popular sport in recent years, attracting fans and participants from all over the world. Joey Chestnut is one of the biggest names in the business, having won numerous eating contests and breaking countless records. His biggest feat or at least the one we know him for is winning the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, where he consumed 75 hot dogs in just 10 minutes. With his impressive eating skills, Chestnut is sure to give Esper a run for his money in the Donut Hole Eating Championship. I don't know how they get into the business but I would love to.

I know this is no game to them and they take this very seriously but I have seen 5 teenage boys on a Sunday morning eat a lot of donut holes in a very short period of time.

While competitive eating may seem like a strange activity to some, it has a rich history dating back centuries. From pie-eating contests at county fairs to hot dog eating challenges at major sporting events, the world of competitive eating is a fascinating one. For participants, it takes a combination of skill, technique, and a strong stomach to succeed.

As Joey Chestnut heads to Indiana for the Donut Hole Eating Championship we wish him the best of luck. I would rather win the donut one than the hot dog one that's for sure. But Joey has an impressive track record, it's no doubt that Chestnut will put on a good show and entertain us all.

Here Is Your Memorial Day BBQ Playlist

BBQ season is here. It's Memorial Day weekend, the first weekend of summer. Are you BBQing this Memorial Day? Or are you attending a BBQ? What's on the menu and more importantly what's on the playlist? You have to set the tone at whatever BBQ you are at and that's going to start with the food and music.

A survey done by Zagat found the food that most people want to see on the menu. Starting with ribs, they reign #1, with 34% of people picking them as their favorite BBQ meat. Brisket follows at 28%, with pulled pork not far behind at 21%. I was shocked to see that when it comes to chicken and sausage, they come in at 3% and 1%. Dang, hot dogs didn't even make the list. I have about 50 for my BBQ.

For sure don't forget about the sides. The survey found that baked beans are the clear winner as a side, with 42% had them for their #1. Cornbread comes in at 26%, with potato salad not too far behind at 24%. Mac n cheese, a BBQ staple, comes in at 23%. What's great about all of those sides is I can grab them at Costco already made! Shhh...! ;)

The BBQ you are hosting or attending is more than just the food it's an experience. That's why you have to make sure that you have the best playlist as well. SO whoever is connected to your Bluetooth speaker make sure they add these songs to their playlist.  After all, there's nothing that brings people together like a slab of ribs and a cold beer, and a great song with awesome company. It sets the perfect vibe for a great BBQ to celebrate summer with your friends and family. Happy cooking and vibing.
