According to Eagle Golf Tours, there are 70 golf courses and 33 golf resorts in Las Vegas and the surrounding area, which means there are tons of options for locals and tourists.
This can make things pretty tricky when trying to plan where to play. Golfweek, an affiliate with USA Today Sports, recently published an article listing the best public-access golf courses in the Las Vegas area.
According to the article, Golfweek used a few methods to create this list of “best public-access course” in Nevada.
The article calculated drive times and used Golfweek’s course-rating panel, which evaluates courses around the country.
Best Golf Course in Las Vegas
According to Golfweek, the best public-access course is Shadow Creek.
Shadow Creek is an 18-hole course located in North Las Vegas. MGM Resorts International operates the course, according to the course’s website.
“Shadow Creek is without a doubt one of the most unique golf course experiences in the world. In fact, I believe if a non-golfer ever visited the course, they would say it is one of the most amazing places they ever visited,” the website states.
Golf Week further states in the article that Shadow Creek takes 8th place when it comes to the best public-access courses in the entire country. It also ranks #1 when it comes to casino courses. So, those are pretty high rankings!
Golf Digest even ranks Shadow Creek as one of the best courses in Nevada. In Golf Digest’s ranking for 2023-’34 year, Shadow Creek took 27th place. But nevertheless, the course is intricate, beautiful and a spectacle to play on. Along with that, legendary golf course architecture Tom Fazio designed this masterpiece of course, and Steve Wynn built this course, who undoubtedly had a vision during the inception of this course, according to Golf.com.
