The Killers Las Vegas Residency Headed To The Strip
For a band as synonymous with Las Vegas as The Killers, it is a shock that Brandon Flowers and the crew have not had a residency in town. But it is true! The band has sold millions of records in their 23 year history, but they have never held down a residency in the city that is often the namesake of their albums. That is about to change.
The Killers First Las Vegas Residency At The Colosseum
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, a summertime residency is incoming with tickets going on sale later this month. The band is rumored to be performing eight dates from mid-August through Labor Day Weekend. This is a big deal!
Don’t take this band for granted! The Killers have been one of the biggest rock acts in our lifetime. And they are “ours.” The band that was birthed in the valley has brought the world smashes like “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr. Brightside”. The latter of which has recently become the anthem of Michigan Wolverines football team fans and sports fans everywhere. They are not only “The Man,” they are Las Vegas’ men! Now, finally, they get the spotlight they deserve on the street they revere.
No matter where The Killers perform, they always make it a point to point out they hail from Las Vegas. Their mere existence and influence helped blaze a path for Imagine Dragons and Panic! At The Disco to show that the valley doesn’t just birth lounge singers. This city can rock! (With all due respect, Wayne Newton.)
Expect them to be at Adele’s house tearing the roof off the place. Hopefully the pre-sale expected this week (link to come when it drops) goes smoother than the Applebee’s Date Night Pass and Taylor Swift pre-sales. We can’t get hurt again.
We are just a little bummed the residency wasn’t at Sam’s Town.
