She shared photos and videos from the vampire-themed ceremony, which featured “anatomically correct heart cakes.” The cakes are even presented on a simple white plate in a small pool of “blood.”
With a video of her and McRae feasting on the heart-shaped cakes shared to her Story, you can hear wedding guest and photographer Cara Delevingne say in the background, “F— me, that was a good photo.” Taylor-Joy, who got her big breakthrough in the 2015 horror film, The Witch, adds in her caption, “Yes, I am the vampire Lestat.” She references the character from Anne Rice’s book, Interview with the Vampire, which is also set in New Orleans.
Taylor-Joy also captioned Delevingne in her caption as her photographer along with professional photographer Sebastián Fena. There is also a photo of Delevingne sitting down with Taylor-Joy, McRae, and Fena all under the bride’s veil. McRae, who is frontman of the rock band More, shared his own post of their wedding anniversary, including a stunning photo of Taylor-Joy. The Alabama native wrote in his sweet caption: “I love you now and somehow I always have and somehow it will never end. Happy two year anniversary (yesterday), beautiful.”
The couple hosted a larger wedding celebration for their friends in Venice last October, according to the BBC. It had previously been speculated that this event was their wedding, but this is the first time the couple has revealed their actual wedding date.
Taylor-Joy first met McRae at the premiere of The Queen’s Gambit in March 2021, with McRae sharing a song he wrote about Taylor-Joy two days after their first meeting. The couple went public with their romance a year later at a pre-Oscars party and married soon afterward.
