Las Vegas Metro Police Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing
Helicopters are simply little taxis in the sky with a blade going 200+ rotations a minute, and then you can float in the sky. Whirlybirds just daring fate, all resting on one engine. If things aren’t right, you’ve got to know what to do. That’s why a Las Vegas Metro Police helicopter pilot decided to set down one of the department’s choppers on Thursday.
Las Vegas Metro Police Helicopter Is Greatest “You Can’t Park There” Moment In Recent Memory
Thankfully, we are allowed to be a little light hearted with this article because everyone is fine. Fined is what this chopper should be for this obvious illegal park job.
“BREAKING,” Metro said in their tweet which should have ended with “our helicopter”.
“Our helicopter, #Air2, has made a precautionary landing in the roadway on Pebble Road, west of Arville, in a residential area. Our officers on board the aircraft are ok”
The Las Vegas Metro Police helicopter remained there, smack dab in the middle of Pebble, for hours while they investigated and figured out exactly how to get it out of there. Because, let’s face it, if you’re going to land a helicopter in the middle of a residential area you’re probably not keen on taking off again.
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, the Las Vegas Metro Police helicopter was towed for illegal parking to get checked out by mechanics and make sure it is air worthy. Thankfully, everyone is OK.
The Area Has Seen Its Fair Share Of Helicopter Issues
There have been several helicopter incidents in the last several years in Southern Nevada. One of the most recent incidents occurred in February, when a chopper that flew in less than ideal conditions between Palm Springs Airport to Boulder City, but crashing in Halloran Springs, California and killing all six on board.
It is a miracle in the air that requires incredible skill, and thankfully the Las Vegas Metro Police helicopter pilot had that and was able to and it safely.
