Woman Wins $2M Lottery; Something Better Happened Day Before

Hitting a multi-million dollar lottery jackpot is the stuff of dreams. Here in Las Vegas, many make the pilgrimage to the California border in the quest for such luck. When Geraldine Gimblet stopped by a convenience store to pick up a scratch ticket outside of Tampa, Florida, she had those dreams in mind. What if we told you that woman wins the lottery, and it’s not even the best thing to happen to her that week!? We’ll explain.

When she stopped inside the Pipkin Road Beverage Castle (awesome name for a store) in Lakeland, Florida, she wanted to get her favorite scratch ticket. It’s a crossword game. At first look it seemed like they were sold out, but upon further inspection it turns out there was one more ticket left. Turns out that ticket was worth a whopping $2,000,000!

How amazing is that!? The odds of a $2,000,000 ticket almost slipping through her fingers if it wasn’t for a double check. That’s gotta be the best luck going! But it wasn’t even the best thing to happen to her that week.

Only one day before, her daughter rang the bell and walked out of the hospital after a rigorous bout of breast cancer treatments.

Turns out Geraldine had laid it all on the line for her daughter, raiding her life savings to make sure her daughter could get the care she needed! Whether you call it good karma, divine intervention or obscenely good luck, it’s a story that has to make you smile.

Congrats to Geraldine and her daughter on a bevvy of good fortune all in a matter of a couple days! Sometimes good things come to good people.

What Could You Buy In Las Vegas If You Won $1.9 Billion Powerball Jackpot

Somehow, the Powerball lottery jackpot still keeps growing. The multi-state numbers game hasn’t hit in months and a drawing tonight will potentially make someone $1,900,000,000 richer.

Obviously inflation has gotten a grip of many of our paychecks. But once you get past “one million dollars”, it’s easy to lose grasp of exactly how much money we are talking about. One million, one billion, what’s the difference?!

A billion is a lot more than a million.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was a huge spectacular. The idea of winning $1,000,000 is huge to some people. Only 12 people were able to win the top prize of $1,000,000. That’s $12,000,000. This lottery would pay out 1,900 millions.

Tiger Woods is the winningest golfer in history, scoring almost $121,000,000 over the course of his illustrious career that spanned decades. You walked into a store in Primm and out earned him 15 times over. As a matter of fact, $1,900,000,000 is like combining the total winnings/salaries of Lebron James, Alex Rodriguez, Tom Brady, Sidney Crosby and Cristiano Ronaldo, all the top earners in the history of their sport.

Or how about the Hollywood Walk Of Fame? You could buy all the stars ($55,000 a piece to create), and have $1.75 Billion left over. How about Disneyland? Supposedly you can pay $50,000 to get an attraction to yourself for four hours. At that rate, you could rent out Splash Mountain for over 17 years!

The most expensive car in the world would make your eyes bulge out. The Rolls Royce Boat Tail goes for an astounding $28,840,000. No big deal for you. You could buy 65 of them and still have $25,000,000 left to spend. Gas money, we bet.
