It’s not easy being a celebrity. Photographers following you everywhere you go, unable to have a vacation in peace, and everyone knows what you make. Forbes list of the Top 400 richest people on the planet has dropped and the news isn’t as much about who made the list. It’s more about the household names you know that just didn’t have it this year.
The cut off for the Forbes 400 was $2.7 Billion. A paltry sum compared to last year’s $2.9 Billion. We are in a recession (sorta) you know!
The big names you’d expect are there. Tesla and SpaceX’s Elon Musk is once again the richest man in the world (by $100,000,000,000) at $251 Billion. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is worth a tiny $151 Billion. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates? He’s worth $106,000,000,000 at number 3 on the list.
They are famous for being rich business owners. How about the “celebrity” celebrities? Director Steven Spielberg is #271 on the list with $4 Billion. And… that’s it. Yeah. There are a lot of billionaire celebrities out there that just aren’t rich enough to sit at the big kid’s table!
So… who didn’t make the mark?
Some of the celebrities that aren’t on the list have made it in the past. Oprah Winfrey is one of the biggest names that once made the list. Oprah fell off the Forbes 400 last year but is still worth a cool 2.5 billion dollars today.
So which celebrities are worth more than a billion, but aren’t worth enough to make the list? They made OUR list of the poorest billionaire celebrities. It’s fun to laugh at people who made more money today than most of us will make in our lives. It makes the pain fade away.
