James Corden attends PaleyFest LA 2023 - "The Late Late Show With James Corden" at Dolby Theatre on April 02, 2023 in Hollywood, California.

After eight years of hosting The Late Late Show, James Corden announced his departure, with the last episode airing this week. And with that, comes the ending of his viral Carpool Karaoke segment. The segment became a hit with fans across the world. During his final ride, James took the passenger seat as Adele drove, and emotions were high. (scroll down for video)

The Carpool Karaoke segment first made its debut on The Late Late Show in 2015. Notable guests like Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, and Justin Bieber were among James’ first to join him in the car or van or SUV… whatever he drove around in.  The premise was simple; James would invite musical guests to join him in a car ride where they would perform some of their most famous hits while also answering a few of James’ interview questions.

As the show grew in popularity, many other notable celebrities flocked to join in the fun. Selena Gomez, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga all blessed the Carpool Karaoke stage with their presence. Fans couldn’t get enough of seeing their favorite artists stripped down to their most authentic selves, screaming those high notes in the car just like you and I do on our way home from work on a Friday.

In the last segment ever of Carpool Karaoke, James gave the steering wheel to Adele, a previous guest herself. The two reminisced over their time together, and James took the opportunity to let Adele know just how much he would miss her on the show, setting the stage for them to sing her hit song “Hello” together, filling the car with nostalgic energy. The segment was a perfect reminder of what made Carpool Karaoke so special.

It always felt like we were along for the ride with them 🙂

Let’s try to break down the 13 best Carpool Karaoke of all time to celebrate James Corden’s last week of the show and reminisce on some of the laughs we had with the viral segment.  Carpool Karaoke will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you, James, for the memories, the laughter, and the music. You’ll forever be the king of the carpool lane. 😉
