For years, Dolly Parton people have been wondering what secrets might be hiding beneath those long-sleeved dresses and tops she’s so fond of wearing. And fans believe she has full sleeves of tattoos that she is covering up. In an exclusive interview with W Magazine, Dolly has finally revealed the truth about her ink—and it turns out that she hasn’t quite gone all out yet!
Dolly did acknowledge that yes, she does have a few tattoos—“I have a few little tattoos here and there,” said the singer. “I don’t have the real heavy, dark tattoos. Mine are all pastel. And I have more than one!” The confession was met with cheers from fans who had long suspected that the country music star had some ink hidden away under those sleeves.
It turns out that some of Dolly’s tattoos might not come as much of a surprise to fans after all. In 2010, she revealed that she had two butterflies tattooed on her chest as a tribute to her parents Robert Lee Parton Sr. and Avie Lee Owens Parton—both of whom passed away within three months of each other in 2000. She also has ribbons tattooed on both arms which represent her siblings—she is one of 12 children—as well as bows on both wrists which signify friendship and family ties. Additionally, rumor has it that she also has a small beehive on her ankle which represents hard work and determination—two qualities that Dolly clearly values highly given how successful her career has been over the years!
But we want proof. Those are just rumors. And I have scoured the internet to find pictures of Dolly with short sleeves. Check out what I’ve found:
