Football season is coming to a close, and the excitement of the Super Bowl is here. What better way to get into the spirit than by watching some classic football movies? From comedies to tearjerkers, these films are sure to make you laugh, cry, and cheer for your favorite team. So put on your jersey, grab some popcorn, and get ready to watch some of the best football movies of all time… in my opinion!
Some of my all time favorites start with Remember The Titans (2000): The classic sports drama starring Denzel Washington one of my favorite actors of all time as well. Varsity Blues (1999): A classic teen comedy set in small-town Texas during football season. When star quarterback Lance Harbor (James Van Der Beek) gets injured mid-season. Can’t forget about Rudy (1993): Another true story about a kid’s inspiring journey against all odds. dreams of playing football at Notre Dame University despite having no athletic background or financial support. The Replacements (2000): A hilarious romp about a pro football strike where a ragtag group of replacements must take over in order for games to go on! The Replacements is 100% entertaining for any fan of American football or comedy films.
Sports movies, specifically football movies, have something for everyone.
If you’re looking for laughs or inspiration there’s something here for you! From Denzel Washington leading Remember The Titans through racial tension in Virginia; Mark Wahlberg getting another shot at glory with Invincible; or just plain old fun with The Replacements – these five films capture the grit, drama and glory that make Football so special! So put on your jersey and enjoy some great football movies this weekend before Super Bowl Sunday!
