Today (Apr. 26), a woman on Twitter who calls herself "The Next Martha" recounted a story of when her husband ordered a Lyft from the airport to only be surprised by a body in the trunk of the car when he attempted to put up his suitcase.
"Even my Halloween display did not prepare him for that," the suburban Chicago resident said.
She explained that her husband declined the ride and the driver pulled off nonchalantly. The body appeared to be "real and female," but the woman's husband wasn't sure if the person was alive or not because there was "little to no movement."
The woman said that her husband thinks that the person might be alive. The man notified the police, Lyft, and the airport.
The body was covered with a blanket except for the head. Lyft responded to "The Next Martha" on Twitter with the information to their critical response line, and she informed them that her husband had already placed a phone call.
"Thank you for confirming that. Our Saftey Team should be in touch with him via email," Lyft replied.
The woman shared that she's been trying to convince her husband to get on Twitter to share the story since it's his to tell. "It's more my husband's story than mine," she exclusively told Beasley Media Group. "Also just happened last night at 10 pm midway airport, Chicago-and he's still processing"
"No one has contacted him back as of now," she wrote on Twitter regarding the Chicago police.
