The Henderson Symphony Orchestra has had a remarkable 2023 season. From "BANG!" to "WOW!" their Heroes Season 22/23 has been an extremely action-packed one, and the group of musicians will be joining one final time in 2023 to provide their final performance in the hero-themed concert series, titled "WHAM!"
This is a concert that you and your family will not want to miss! Affordable and family friendly, the Henderson Symphony Orchestra will be performing the free show on Friday, June 2nd at 7:30 p.m. at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson. The group will be bringing in guest pianist Michael Sheppard for the performance!
News 3 reports that "According to HSO, Sheppard will take on the role of 'The Ivory Crusader' as the last soloist of their heroes-themed season, and the concert will open with a new piece by Mason Bates inspired by Steve Jobs. Sheppard will be performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.3, considered one of the most difficult concerti to perform. This concerto was the center of the movie "Shine" which won Geoffrey Rush an Academy Award for his role as the pianist David Helfgott."
Not only will this action-packed evening provide beautiful entertainment for all who attend, but the performance will also provide a couple of young local artists the opportunity to perform with the professional orchestra. WHAM! will feature two winners of the HSO's Young Artists Competition - Antonio McDonald (cello) and Brennan Fischl (clarinet).
If you or your family have never experienced the jaw-dropping wonder of a symphony performance, this final free show by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra is the perfect chance to expose your kids and family to the wonderful art of music.
