Imagine Dragons has released their brand new documentary ‘Imagine Dragons: Live In Vegas’.

The boys went from winning a local band contest to headlining Allegiant Stadium in a little more than a decade. The band is now pulling back the curtain on their run in a new Imagine Dragons documentary and concert special premiering today, Imagine Dragons: Live In Vegas. One watch of the preview and it's clear that this is a raw and honest look at the band's humble beginnings.
"Our goal was to be a self-sustained indie band," said Dan Reynolds in the preview for the Hulu doc. "We could make enough money to make rent and have food." What followed was a storyline that you couldn't write as it's too perfect. Imagine Dragons was playing a concert in 2008 at Desert Breeze Park in a local "Battle of the Bands". That concert, by the way, was put together in part by 102.7 VGS Chief Content Officer Justin Chase.
Imagine Dragons would win that battle and play a secondary stage. Not bad, right? Well... it would get better.
How Train played a role in Imagine Dragons success
The band Train was red hot and were set to headline the concert. But there was a problem. Lead singer Pat Monahan was having major vocal issues and was unable to perform. Would tens of thousands be sent home disappointed? Justin decided to put Imagine Dragons on stage to close the show.
That spark led to the beginning of their major label career and an incredible run that led them to the biggest show in the history of Las Vegas-based musicians.
Much of the documentary features a performance from this January at Park MGM. The exclusive event was incredible, with cameras everywhere. We were there, and you can catch pictures below!

Imagine Dragons Exhilarates Crowd At Las Vegas Benefit Concert (PHOTOS)
Imagine Dragons kicked off 2023 with an exhilarating private benefit concert on January 5th.
The private performance raised money for Imagine Dragon's non-profit, the Tyler Robinson Foundation. According to the non-profits website, TRF was founded in 2013 in honor of Tyler Robinson, a "long-time fan turned lifelong friend," who lost his battle against pediatric cancer at 17 years old.
Imagine Dragons and the Robinson family established the non-profit with the mission "to strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing grants specifically to offset out-of-pocket life expenses."
Lucky 102.7 VGS listeners who won tickets from Aimee+Shawn or Sammi Reeves had the honor of attending this private event to see lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist and keyboardist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman perform live on the Las Vegas Strip.
Ticket holders entered Dolby Live at Park MGM with wide eyes, as mesmerizing lasers glowed through the air and disappeared into the audience. There wasn't a bad seat in the house, and fans were able to secure their spot right by the stage!
When Imagine Dragons took the stage, you could feel the electricity course throughout Dolby Live. Song after song, the wide array of emotions displayed among fans was touching to say the very least.
The band delivered a high-energy performance, playing several of their most popular hits like "Believer," "It's Time," and "Thunder." In-between songs, Reynolds gave numerous inspiring speeches that had each member of the audience in the palm of his hand, reminding each and every fan of the real purpose of the evening and the hopeful impact that it would have on numerous families.
102.7 VGS stood stage-side throughout Imagine Dragons' entire set list, and honestly, we can't think of a more exhilarating and impactful way to have kicked off the new year.
