Fire Erupts At Allegiant Stadium During The Weeknd Concert
In life, they say it’s all about being in the right place at the right time. And when a massive fire broke out at Allegiant Stadium during The Weeknd‘s concert, it was fate that I was right there in the heart of the action.
I was feeling a little under-the-weather this weekend, but nothing was going to stop me from seeing The Weeknd at Allegiant Stadium. Seeing The Weeknd on a weekend? Please. I couldn’t miss that opportunity.
The show was INCREDIBLE. The entire structure of the show had me enamored from the moment I entered the stadium and saw the giant moon hanging midair. From the set list, to the mesmerizing lighting, to the moving vocals. I’m still floating on cloud nine.
However, as the end of the concert was approaching and I started to feel more rough, I decided I would try to beat the crowd and dipped a little early. As I rode down the escalators of Allegiant Stadium and headed towards the exit, I had no idea what I was about to witness.
As I moseyed through the doors, I noticed a small fire behind one of The Weeknd’s merchandise trailers I had stood in line at just before the concert. Like I said, the fire was small… But in a matter of seconds, I watched this fire completely engulf the trailer. The whole thing went VOOSH. Big flames. Black smoke. The whole nine yards… And you already know I caught the whole thing on camera.
Fortunately, two Clark County Fire Department engines rolled up within a few minutes. Black smoke barreled into the sky as they worked diligently to put out the flames. Fortunately, I don’t believe there were any injures as a result of the situation.
The Weeknd was on fire… but so was his merch trailer. Never a dull moment in Las Vegas.

Aimee's First Morning Show Boot Camp In Chicago
Well, I will be recovering for 6 months after going to Morning Show Boot Camp! What a blast we had. Learned so much, and met amazing people.
If it weren’t for the snow that Chicago gets, I would want to move there in a heartbeat! What a beautiful city.
Let me start by saying traveling without my husband gave me massive anxiety because he always takes care of everything and I don’t like to do anything alone. I am super dependent on being around people but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and go sightseeing by myself. So I did. I went to the BEAN in Downtown Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. It was less than a mile away from my hotel so it wasn’t super crazy. The bean also known as Cloud Gate is one of the world’s largest permanent outdoor art installations and one of the biggest tourist stops! It was really cool to see! I also stopped at a couple of great photo opp stops and headed back for some radio panels (pictures below)
The next day I went sightseeing with friends. (Sigh of relief) Shawn introduced me to so many awesome people. We all headed to Navy Pier it was quite a walk but worth it. With the views of Lake Michigan, we had ice cream and a margarita and watched the jets practice for the air show the next day! Incredible. We ate real Chicago deep-dish pizza. I can’t wait to go back again next year. Being in a room with all of your peers just soaking up all of the energy and ideas is so amazing. Radio people are the best people. <3
Here is to recovering and getting ready for next year!
