8 Golden Knights Losses That Were Worse Than Last Night
The night was already bad enough for fans. They had to battle cone zones on Interstate 15 and detours around Tropicana Avenue. Then they got in line to get into T-Mobile Arena to watch the Vegas Golden Knights face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs, only to have the AT&T outage delay entry. But the worst part was getting in to watch an absolute beating. It was one of the worst losses in Golden Knights history. But, believe it or not, it wasn’t the worst.

Sure, the Knights let 4 slide past them in the first period alone, three past starter Adin Hill who eventually got yanked. The Knights tried valiantly to battle back but at the end of it all, 7-3 final said it all. Sometimes the universe tries to warn you about impending doom, fans.
There Have Been Worse Losses Than The Golden Knights Got Handed Last Night
A beating like what occurred on Thursday night is obvious demoralizing. No one likes losing. Especially when it is the fourth home loss in a row (thank you coming road trip). But thankfully, despite several seasons of a mostly success story, there have been worst drubbings.
As a matter of fact this is the 17th regular season loss with a four goal deficit in team history! Five of them left the Golden Knight scoreless entirely.
In the relatively short history of the Golden Knights, only eight games have risen to the occasion as being a worse beating than the Maple Leafs delivered yesterday. So we went into the history books to pull out the absolute worst games we’ve seen out of the VGK.
What Were The Golden Knights Worst Drubbings
There have been some legendary beatings over the years. Like the time the New Jersey Devils handed the Knights a big fat L in the form of an 8-3 loss on the road during the team’s inaugural season. They were beat two other times that season by even more, from the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. They both beat the Knights by 6 goal deficits – tied for the all-time biggest beatdown. We don’t want to talk about it.
The Colorado Avalanche had their way with the Knights in the 2019-20 season with a 6-1 beatdown. Of course, we are talking about the regular season, so we’ll definitely skip over the time they beat us 7-1 in the playoffs.
The New York Rangers blanked the Knights 5-0, in the 2019-20 season as well. Then Knights coach Gerard Gallant was fired a month later.
What we didn’t realize was how much the Calgary Flames have had our number. Half of all of these drubbings came at the Flames hand! Thankfully their beatings come from the NHL standings.
Once in the 2018-19 season and again in the 2022-23 season, the Flames beat the Knights by 5 goals. But the biggest beatdown of them all came on February 9th, 2022. The Flames made the Knights lay eggs for a 6-0 inferno in Calgary.
We are just glad that one took place somewhere other than the Fortress.
