Monolith On A Las Vegas Mountain Has Police Stumped
Look, in the sky! It’s a bird… it’s a plane… it’s a monolith on a Las Vegas mountain. But… how? Why? What?
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Facebook released a post on Monday attaching photos of the mysterious monolith on a Las Vegas mountain on Gass Peak north of Floyd Lamb Park.
Monolith On Las Vegas Mountain No Cause For Concern
In particular, it was the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search And Rescue crew that came across the incredibly shiny object. Is it an alien artifact? Perhaps a naturally occurring flower that is new to the valley? Maybe the monolith on a Las Vegas mountain is here to guerrilla market the cleaning power of Windex (because, damn, that’s spotless). Whatever it is, Metro doesn’t seem to worried.
They used the photo as an opportunity to point out the importance of being prepared on your hikes. (With what, a squeegee?) They boil it down to the acronym “TRAIL”:
- T: TELL someone where you plan on hiking and when you’ll be back.
- R: RESEARCH the weather before you go.
- A: AID and ADDITIONAL food and water.
- I: INCLEMENT weather gear.
- L: LIGHT source to shine for help or see your way around. (Cell phone is a good idea)
The Monolith Trend Continues
These shiny monoliths have been popping up around the world for several years now. You might remember the first one that popped up in Moab, Utah back in 2020. It was a massive mystery that led to social media influencers from all over to descend upon the desert to try to find it. There were many copycats in the months that followed.
It seemed like the hype had died down, but here we are again. At this point, we are hoping it is aliens so we can avoid this upcoming election cycle.
