It’s more than just a coffee it’s like a lifestyle for those of us who are obsessed. People wait all year for that first sip. The anticipation is real. Channel your inner barista put a green apron on and spell your name incorrectly on your cup. Here’s how to create your own DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte.
DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk (whatever milk you prefer)
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (NOT the pumpkin pie filling, just plain pumpkin)
- 1-2 tablespoons sugar (I don’t like it too sweet so I do 1)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 cup coffee or 1-2 shots of espresso (make your coffee stronger than you normally do for this)
- Whipped cream (because PSLs aren’t the same without it!)
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, whisk together the milk, pumpkin puree, and sugar. Warm the mixture until it’s hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and pumpkin pie spice.
- If you’ve got a milk frother, use that. If not, you can whisk the mixture vigorously until it gets nice and frothy.
- Pour the hot coffee or espresso into your favorite mug. (spelling your name incorrectly optional) Add the frothy pumpkin mixture on top.
- No PSL is complete without a generous swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.
Cozy up, take a sip of your DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte, and let the fall vibes wash over you even if it is 100 degrees in Vegas still!
