Shawn’s Dad Orders Stuff From Amazon On The Phone
Parents just don’t understand. God knows they try, but it can be tough to hold our mom and/or dad’s hand in a digital world.
Shawn’s dad is an awesome guy, and he has wide eyes for new toys. He just doesn’t know how to use them. Recently he decided he wanted to start a YouTube channel to talk to his buddies (some funny guys, some “wise” guys). So he asked Shawn for help, he emailed his dad a whole bunch of Amazon links to click and buy from, and his dad bought it all. From a computer, to cameras, to wires, to an audio mixer, he’s set.
Only one problem… he doesn’t know how to use any of it.
Shawn has been his tech support guy for years and while Shawn gets a little impatient reminding his dad where the “Start” button is or how to attach an image to an email, he does his best.
Recently, Shawn was back in his hometown of Boston and helping his dad go through the equipment, and realized he bought something he shouldn’t have. So it was time to go to Amazon.com and return the item. Shawn asked his dad for his Amazon password. He didn’t have one. He looked through his emails. There were no emails from Amazon. Then his dad dropped the bomb on him…
He bought all the equipment over the phone. FROM AMAZON. We truly had no idea this was even possible, but it turns out, yes, you can look at the website, see an item and call in an order.8
Shawn called Amazon customer service and lo and behold he was able to get the return situated, but wow! Amazon over the phone. Now we’ve heard everything.
