Sammi’s Worst First Date
There aren’t many people that can say they’ve been wooed by a pilot who wanted to whisk her away for far away sushi dates… but then again many people aren’t Sammi Reeves.
Our afternoon host was getting ready for a first date a few years back (it was a double date). Her friend and her pilot boyfriend, and Sammi and her pilot first date. He was flying in from California to pick them up, fly to California for some delicious sushi, and then back to Las Vegas. The carbon footprint of this trip was through the roof.
Nonetheless, come the morning of the date, Sammi was ready. Unfortunately, her body was revolting against her. Her stomach was in knots all day, not because of nerves but because of all the things Pepto Bismol claims to cure. She didn’t feel up to it, but he was already flying all the way to Las Vegas. She can’t cancel. Not a good look.
So, she meets everyone at the airport, boards the flight, and off they went on a 1-hour flight to sushi. But trouble was abrewin’. Her stomach was grumbling, and the turbulence of the flight certainly wasn’t helping. The pilot was welcoming her to take the controls of the plane and, you know, wooing her. She sucked it up, and played along. But halfway through the flight… she was starting to lose the battle.
And she pooped. Just a little. In a flight without a bathroom. Absolutely brutal.
Sammi recounts the story as only she can, about what is easily the worst first date she’s ever had (and arguably any of us may ever have too). But hey, she got a free flight, free sushi, and a story to tell. So… it’s not all bad.
