F1 Car Racing Down Las Vegas Strip Is Outrageous! (VIDEO)
It takes a lot to make our jaws drop when it comes to the Las Vegas Strip. There is always something awe-inspiring going on there, you almost become desensitized to it as a local. Oh? A 22 million gallon water fountain? Cool. Pyramid? That’s cool. Eiffel Tower? Neat-o. But watching this video of a Formula 1 car (slowly) racing down Las Vegas Boulevard this weekend has us amped.
Mercedes Benz put a 360 camera on one of their vehicles as Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team driver George Russell pulls out of the driveway at Caesars Palace and wows the crowd. Once on Las Vegas Boulevard, he (carefully) let it rip past Flamingo and in front of the Bellagio Fountains for a donut or two. He then drove around the Arc de Triomphe at Paris Las Vegas, headed back on the Strip, and headed back to base.
Sure, it was a quick trip. Sure it wasn’t the blistering 200+ miles per hour a Formula 1 car is capable of reaching. But the sound of that engine roaring in front of throngs of fans has up amped for next year’s race.
Here’s what the Las Vegas F1 route looks like…
The actual route (simulated above) will have racers tearing through the resort corridor, passing the soon to be completed MSG Sphere, and more. It will be a massive advertisement for Las Vegas with over 100,000,000 worldwide viewers watching, which is what it’s all about. Heads in beds.
Looking at the video, one other thing is for sure: don’t even try parking at properties on the east side of the Strip! Once you’re there, you might be stuck there for a while.
The Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix gets underway next November, and for once driving on the Strip will be the fastest route in the valley.
