Wayne Gretzky owns the Desert Dogs? Who are the Desert Dogs anyway…
This is the first season the National Lacrosse League has had a home team in Las Vegas. While the team is off to a rocky start (6th out of 7 in their conference) they’ve been showing flashes! Like beating the NLL Champions, the Colorado Mammoth, in their most recent game!
Yeah, Wayne Gretzky is a big name owner. However he’s not the only one! The team is co-owned with two-time major golf championship winner Dustin Johnson, legendary NBA baller Steve Nash, and the co-founder of Alibaba and multi-billionaire Joseph Tsai. He also owns the Brooklyn Nets, the Barclays Arena (where they play) and many others sports ventures.
The league boasts fifteen teams – ten in the United States, and five in Canada.
If you haven’t given the sport a chance, maybe now is the time to start. Here’s a video to get you started. You’ll be a “Dog” in no time.
