It was one hell of a birthday celebration for Los Angeles Rams star Ronnie Rivers.

The rookie running back wanted to celebrate his 24th birthday (which just passed on January 31st) as well as his mom’s birthday. Just so happens the NFL’s Pro Bowl Games landed right around the same time, so what better reason to visit Las Vegas!

Ronnie was playing Three Card Poker at Caesars Palace on Saturday when he hit a “mega jackpot” worth $514,837! His cards and the house cards lined up for an epic Royal Flush of hearts. Ronnie knows… play the bonus!

Ronnie Rivers isn’t rich (yet)… so this is big!

Now before you get all jealous that an incredibly wealthy NFL player just won a jackpot he probably won’t notice when he deposits it – think again. Rivers came into the league undrafted last year and signed with the Arizona Cardinals, but didn’t make the cut. He went on to the Seattle Seahawks but was once again cut before the season began. His third team, the Los Angeles Rams, signed him to the practice squad, and eventually he went on to play on the active roster, with one start in week 8.

His non-guaranteed NFL salary was only $705,000 last season… so this is a big deal for the feel good story running back. Now he’s looking at buying a home with his winnings. You’ve gotta love it!

If you were wondering, no he didn’t play in the NFL’s Pro Bowl Games. But he out-earned all of his NFC teammates who “only” made $84,000 for the event. That’s what you call smart money.

Congrats to our new favorite NFL success story, and here’s to more starts in 2023!
