Making It On The Las Vegas’s 40 Under 40 List
Getting on the Las Vegas’s 40 Under 40. Las Vegas is about lights, camera, action, gambling, and shows but it is also about community. There are so many strong smart and motivated young people in Las Vegas and it’s nice that they get a chance to be highlighted in Las Vegas’ “40 Under 40”. But what does it take to get nominated as a top “40 Under 40”? Let’s take a look.
What It Takes to Make the Cut
- Drive and Ambition – dreams can be made and shattered here in Las Vegas but ambition is the fuel that pushes you forward. If you are an entrepreneur, an artist, researcher, you need passion and determination to lead you down your road to success.
- Creativity – Vegas thrives on innovation, we are always pushing boundaries and creating things that don’t get created anywhere else. You need to be creative to get recognized in this big beautiful city.
- Community Impact – Making your mark in Vegas isn’t about personal achievements, it’s about giving back to your community, the community that you call home. If you do it through outreach or activism just get it done and make Vegas better than when you found it.
- Networking – Vegas is HUGE yes but it’s also very small. Connections are a must here in Vegas. Sometimes it’s not what you know it’s who you know. This is very much the case a lot of the time here in Vegas.
- Take Risks – Vegas was built on risks. Live and breathe that. Keep throwing things against the wall and see what sticks.
The Honor Is So Big
Earning a spot on Las Vegas’s 40 Under 40 list isn’t just to say you did it. It’s a testament to your hard work, your dedication, and your amazing commitment to the city and to yourself. It means you’re helping make the future bright for the young people that will come after you.
Being part of the group comes with responsibility too. It’s a platform to keep creating, keep giving back and keep showing the next generation how to be leaders and how to be selfless.
I would like to raise a toast to the newest inductees into the 40 Under 40 especially my friend Mike Davis from Fox 5 who is only 32 and has been in Las Vegas for 4 years but is always giving back to the city he calls home. The sky is the limit for all of us here in Las Vegas.
