Best Places To Watch The Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix For Free
If you’re craving a taste of F1 adrenaline, but you don’t have the $400 budget for tickets then we have some solutions for you.
Before we dive into the details about potential viewing spots that are free, we need to give you a few warnings.
Can You Watch The Las Vegas Grand Prix For Free In Person?
If you think F1 event planners will overlook spots where people can catch part of the race for $0 then you’re mistaken. So, in short, there is technically no spot that will give you a perfect view of the race without a hefty price tag.
According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, city officials will block potential views from footbridges and sidewalks with aluminum sheets. Last year, the organization used tarps to block people from peeking and seeing the race for free. However, people ended up tearing through the tarps last year.
It looks like the organization learned from its mistakes last year and enforced the aluminum sheets with scaffolding and overhead lighting, Casino.org states.
We understand that event organizers are simply protecting the value of the tickets by blocking these viewpoints. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be a few watch parties on and off The Strip during F1 weekend.
Free Parking On The Strip
Circus Circus, Sahara, and Treasure Island have free parking. However, this may change during the height of F1 activities. Last year, many properties had parking rates that started at $100 for the night.
You may be able to get a gist of the action on the parking structures. But, we also recommend walking around The Strip and taking the monorail to get a taste of the atmosphere during F1. There will be activations across the different properties.
While you’re walking The Strip, there will be echoes of engines and race cars throughout the street. So, it will undoubtedly be an exciting scene. Many YouTubers went down to The Strip during last year’s F1 race and found some good viewing spots near Treasure Island.
You can walk The Strip and get a little glimpse of the race. But, you will have to keep constantly moving because these viewing spots by Treasure Island are by walkways and busy pedestrian intersections.
Free Watch Parties for Las Vegas F1
The city of Henderson will be hosting an official watch party on Water Street Plaza. This party will have a cardboard car contest, free food, DJs and a ticket giveaway for next year’s Formula 1 race.
The race will be shown on a 42-screen with surround sound. So, this is another way to get a piece of the action pie without paying hundreds of dollars, walking miles for a potential spot and getting lost in the sea of people.
