Dam Special Concert: Billy Idol Ready To Rock Hoover Dam

Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” will be echoing off the walls of the Hoover Dam this April. The legendary rocker just announced a special performance planned for the landmark.

The concert event, titled Billy Idol: Hoover Dam Live, will be a once-in-a-lifetime concert event. Billy announced the event on his Twitter account last week, but the news is just hitting hard today.

“On April 8th, I will perform the first concert ever at Hoover Dam to help raise awareness of the drought issues in the North American West,” said Idol with a link to the concert’s website.

If you’ve been to the Hoover Dam, you’re obviously aware of how majestic it is. When the dam was built in the 1930s it was considered to be a marvel. Nearly 90 years later it still remains awe-inspiring. However, the body of water behind that dam leaves a lot to be desired. Hence the event to put a spotlight on the water crisis.

Speaking of lights, Vertigo (who are behind the concert event) promises to “illuminate and electrify” Black Canyon near the Dam for the special performance, which will be filmed for the Vertigo AV series.

Tickets to see Billy Idol at Hoover Dam are pretty reasonable, considering…

Ticket prices for this exclusive, one of a kind performance are actually fairly decent. $1500 gets you a hotel room at the Waldorf Astoria on the strip, transportation to and from Hoover Dam, your name in the credits of the film and more! For an additional $750, you’ll get a second ticket for your sweetie (or friend) who is staying in the room with you to join.

Here’s What You Missed On Aimee+Shawn This Week

What a week! Aimee+Shawn kicked off on Monday with Aimee going under the needle. She got a Beyoncé-inspired tattoo by @ink_andiron to give herself good luck. Would it work?

Shawn… he used to be carefree. He used to take it easy. But now he’s rapidly entering middle-aged and picking fights with garage door opener companies. It’s sad to see how quickly he’s fallen.

Anyone with kids knows the aspirations we have to give our kids the best. Aimee wanted to get her son Jayden a meet and greet with NFL icons, and get pictures with them. She ended up doing just that, but not before going undercover as a member of the press to circumvent all the rules.

You ever get to a stop sign at the same time as someone else, and you do the “acceleration shuffle”? One car goes, then stops. The other car does it too. No one ends up going despite someone definitely having the right of way? Shawn dealt with it and all of a sudden it was a stand-off during the school commute.

Speaking of stand-offs, Shawn got to bare witness to the biggest hissy fit by someone angry about his enchilada order at Roberto’s Taco Shop and he gives the play-by-play on the silliest reason to get uppity, ever.

Aimee’s starting to realize her oldest is keeping his digital distance away from her… is she taking it personally? Meanwhile, Shawn recalls the one time he did something physical and truly embarrassed his wife.

Finally… there are some stark differences between men and women… and this difference is almost universal. Aimee+Shawn dove into the difference between wanting to talk about problems and wanting to fix them.
