Las Vegas’ Hate Of California Drivers Has Gone Too Far
It goes without saying that people in Las Vegas, by and large, seem to have an issue with California drivers. What, with their living here for four years and not getting a Nevada plate and their driving 40 over the limit and their cutting in front of you with their BMW.
That said, it is all fun and games to make fun until someone gets hurt, and it nearly happened in October.
One Of These California Drivers The Target In Violent Argument
According to 8 News Now, an argument broke out at a bar near the corner of South Durango Drive and West Warm Springs Road (the location was not named but there are several that fit the description).
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says 38 year old Daniel Cullen Sanders spotted a man leaving the bar and walking into his Tesla that was parked in a handicapped spot, we can assume without the proper placard or license plate.
The arrest report goes on to say that Sanders spotted the potential lowest violation of parking law and took issue with it, spouting off about him doing it. He went on to see he was one of these California drivers and teed off on that as well.
Now up until this point, this is typical ego stuff. Someone puffs up their chest and has something to say. If it were to end here, it would be stupid. But no. It doesn’t end here.
The California driver was trying to exit the parking lot and Sanders and his car were right in front of him. According to the Metro report, the victim had a shot fired towards him, with a bullet getting lodged in the dashboard. Thankfully it didn’t hit him.
Debit Card And TSA Did Suspect In
This whole incident happened on October 19th, but we are just hearing about this story now. Why?
Well according to Metro, they were able to identify Daniel Cullen Sanders because he used a debit card when he purchased something at the bar. Inevitably Sanders tried to board a flight on December 17th and was arrested.
What Is Sanders Charged With?
Sanders is facing several charges including assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a gun at a car and attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
Just the latter charge has Sanders facing a wide 3 to 40 years in prison, a category B felony. Shooting at a car is another category B felony which carries 1-10 years in prison, and assault with a deadly weapon is a category B felony as well with a sentence of 1-6 years.
Listen, you should definitely obey the law and get a Nevada license plate, don’t park in handicapped parking if it isn’t for you, and drive somewhere remotely close to the speed limit. But… don’t shoot at people if they don’t. It’s uncouth.
