8 Things We Miss About Being a Kid
Do you ever find yourself thinking back on the good old days when life was much simpler? A new survey by Tropicana asked adults what they miss most about being a child and the results are bringing me right back.
- Everyone loves a good school holiday and it turns out that adults miss this luxury more than anything else. It’s no surprise given that holidays are usually filled with playdates, family trips, and sleep-ins. What could be better?
- Waking up without any worries or pressures for the day ahead. Ahh, bliss.
- Groceries and laundry. I mean common. Remember when mom just did your laundry and cooked every meal for you? Now I am the mom. SIGH.
- Remember when you wanted to get older? Waking up on your birthday morning feeling excited instead of dreading another year older!
- Spending time outside! playing in parks with fresh air and sunshine. Getting sad when the sun goes down because you have to go inside.
- And who can forget pocket money? Although most of us don’t receive pocket money anymore, there’s something special about having our own allowance as children to buy candy or toys with!
- Seeing friends every day at school makes us nostalgic for those times when we had people around us constantly.
- BILLS! Not having them!
If there is anything I know from reading these is that I wish that I appreciated all of that so much more when we were younger. Getting to see your best friends at least five days a week was the absolute best. I also wish that I could try to instill in my kids to soak up every moment of their childhood and teenage years.
