Las Vegas Strip Getting A New Resort — Get All The Details
Don’t look now, because yet another huge project is coming to the Las Vegas Strip. Golden Nugget owner Tilman Fertitta has gotten approval from Clark County to build a towering new casino resort at the corner of Harmon and Las Vegas Boulevard.

The 43-story property (9 stories shorter than The Cosmopolitan) will sit across the street from CityCenter, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood and will feature over 2,400 rooms, restaurants, a theater with over 2,000 seats… even a wedding chapel and auto showroom. The plan seems to be a higher-end resort with suites and villas available – quite the contrast compared to what is there at the moment.
What’s going away to build this?
In order to make the project happen, Fertitta bought a 6-acre plot of land that you see on the map below. Everything from the former Harley Davidson bar, a motel relic in the Travelodge, and a small strip mall featuring random souvenir shops.
This small area of the Strip has been in need of an upgrade for quite a while. Think just 15 years ago. There was no Cosmopolitan. No CityCenter. No “one of the largest screens in the world”. It was a pretty boring corner. But as things have popped up, the area just north and south of the Hawaiian Marketplace has left a lot to be desired. Now the final corner of this prime real estate is going to get the modern day Vegas treatment.
No official word on when the property will begin construction but a representative for the project said they hope to have it up and ready to go in the next two years. This being built, Fontainebleu being finished… Vegas is back!
